Rachel’s final MA project explored the theme of heritage, focusing on the fusion of her father’s Scottish and her mother’s Burmese roots. She wove elements of her personal heritage and identity into her work, drawing inspiration from significant memorabilia and architectural landmarks from her childhood to the present day. This included her grandparent’s collection of old buttons and coins, and designs inspired by Stockport Viaduct and Southampton City Walls. Rachel’s aim was to create a cohesive narrative through imagery and design, highlighting the connection between identity and cultural fusion.
